Back Lit Targets are designed to improve visibility when shooting at black targets. By adding light from behind, the shooter can see the shot 

precisely the moment it happens. As a practice tool, this helps the shooter become more aware of their aim point, stance, and hold at the most critical moment—the shot.

The backlight can be turned off with a remote if the shooter or competition requires shooting without it. When practicing, if the shooter only wants a quick look at the last shot and it’s impractical to walk up to the target—or too disruptive to keep bringing the target forward on a pulley system.....a quick switch on at an appropriate moment is easy.
